NINO

  • The ice class tanker NINO ran aground off the East Coast of South Africa.  The vessel was pulled off by tugs and towed to Durban and docked on the EBH Floating Dock – ELDOCK.
  • Inspection of the vessel indicated that the entire bottom of the ship would need to be replaced.
  • EBH successfully carried out this work and a total of 900 tons of steel was successfully replaced in a period just over 3 months.
  • Major work was also done of the propeller and rudder as well as the replacement of piping damaged in the vicinity of the steel that had to be replaced.
