Piping
Piping repairs forms a major part of Elgin Brown and Hamer’s work. Our pipe shop has
over 30 machines covering pipe cutting and bending activities as well as other machines used for pipe handling
efficiency.
The workshop is equipped with:

Hydraulic Pipe Bending Machine for bending of steel up to 168mmx8mm wall thickness

Cold Pipe Benders for bending different pipe sizes up to 3-inch diameter

The workshop has sufficient capacity of welding machines and equipment, which enables the shop to cope with any
load of piping repairs or renewals.
Cutting Machines include:

An Automatic Oxy Cutting Machine which performs precise shape cutting of pipes from 80mm to 1200mm dias and wall
thickness from 3mm to 60mm

Portable Gas cutting machines for cutting and bevelling of pipes.
Portable cold cutting machines used on board the vessels to perform cold straight cutting and bevelling operations
when hot work is not permitted.
Steel Work
Our steel division offers a vast scope of repair and manufacturing procedures. The division is fully equipped with a
complete complement of manufacturing and repair apparatus at its disposal thus allowing our skilled artisans to
complete their jobs within the stipulated time frame. The division ensures that attention to quality is vigorously
pursued and customer satisfaction is maintained at all times. All our work is subject to strict in process control in

Mechanical

Our Mechanical workshop is equipped with a range of machine tools together with skilled operators capable of

required in ship repair activity. We have multi disciplined marine fitters who specialise in most makes of main &
auxillary diesel engines. We carry out various types of mechanical and marine repairs on the floating docks, in the dry
dck and the vessls alongside which include tailshaft surveys, overhauling of valves, steam boilers, gear boxes,
pumps,cargo equipment, winches, coolers and other equipment.For on board work we also have turbo chargers and cargo
pumps services available.Dimensional inspection facilities as well as alignment and vibration analysis checks are are
carried out by qualified personnel. We have a dedicated propellor repair shop. Rudder, shafting and propellor work is
carried out by our experienced and verstile team.
Blasting / Painting

specified standards. U.HP water blasting up to 2800 bars.
